- • The incidence of lymphoma increases with age and is more common in men than in women. Most occur in
- people who were previously healthy.
- • Occupational exposure in the flour, forestry and agricultural industries has been reported to increase the risk
- of developing certain types of intermediate- and high-grade lymphoma.
- • People with congenital or acquired abnormalities of their immune systems or who take medicine to suppress
- their immune systems have a higher incidence of lymphoma.
- • There is an increased incidence of intermediate- and high-grade lymphomas in people infected with the HIV
- virus for four or more years.
- • Exposure to radiation or chemotherapy .
